A vacuum erectile device (VED) is used to help men with erectile dysfunction get and maintain an erection. These devices are also called vacuum constriction devices or penis pumps.A VED consists of the following:The tube is placed over the penis, and the pump is used to create a vacuum, which draws blood into the penis so that it becomes erect. The band is placed at the base of the penis to help maintain the erection.You can get a VED with a prescription from your health care provider. You can also buy them without a prescription online and in adult entertainment stores. It's a good idea to ask your provider to prescribe a VED or to recommend a specific model to purchase. That way you can be sure you are getting a quality product. Be sure to choose a VED with a vacuum limiter. This prevents the pressure from getting too high, which could cause injury. | |
